Here is Ewan and Jeff reciting part of their favorite book. Sleeping Dragons all Around by Sheree Fitch. Ewan loves to read this at bedtime.

Ewan counting

Here is a video of Ewan counting to ten. He will get it soon enough. I still can't believe that he is counting as much as he is. Mostly he just says "1,2,1,2" over and over. But with a little prompting he can get to ten, occasionally.

Rain day

Rainy day activities at the Hawley house. First we took Quinn to see the Doctor in the morning. We left in plenty of time and were late anyway, the traffic was awful. Quinn now weighs 9lbs 7oz. She is getting to be very long. All is well with her, she is a very happy little girl and is doing all we would expect her to do at her corrected age (2mths 3weeks).
Then after nap time Ewan and I made some cookies, Very fun.
And of course to finish off the day, when the rain stopped we went out and looked for some puddles.
Quinn is still a little small for the excersauser but did love being in it.

Quinn hanging out in her own bed on her beautiful quilt ( made by Gigi).

Cars the Movie is Ewan's favorite thing right now. I must admit I let him watch it far too often. Anyway, Jeff bought the cars mega blocks set for him for Christmas, well I couldn't wait so we opened it last night. He loves McQueen but was afraid of the tipping cow (his favorite part of the movie) go figure.
Also a pic of Quinn enjoying a bath.

Dartmouth Commons

We went for a walk in the Dartmouth Commons yesterday. What a beautiful fall day. Ewan was most interested in picking the flowers and then discarding them. Boys will be boys, I guess.

A Poem

A Poem written byJeff Foxworthy, called "Dirt On My Shirt". It's a collection of fun kidpoems.

*Escape*
How happy are balloons that finally get away?
Escaped from little hands
That tried to make them stay
Where do they go, I wonder?
With no map to guide them
To Heaven I would guess
Where little angels ride them

Happy Birthday Manny

We took the kids down to see their great grandparents over the weekend. No picture with Ewan he was too busy.

Football Day

Ewan was more interested in his tball set then the game.

I hate Sunday, because it is Football day. I do not know why exactly I hate it, I just do. But it looks like I am alone in this. Here is the family in their football gear to cheer on the Patriots. When I took this picture Ewan was pointing at the patriots symbol on Quinn's shirt and saying football. We may have gotten a little carried away with the Patriots stuff for Ewan. When I cleaned out his shirt drawer this morning I found 5 patriots shirts. Thank Frenchy's

A few things from this week

Ewan loves being a big brother. Quinn is still a little unsure of him.
Aunt Kim gave the kids Mickey and Minnie stuffed toys. Ewan has claimed them both as his own. He is not much for sharing yet. They have joined the collection of things Ewan likes to take to bed with him. Soon there will not be any room for Ewan.

I am obsessed with cutting Ewan's hair it is getting shorter and shorter all the time. This is the latest cut. I have used the clippers, he did very well to sit mostly still. So I am not sure what to use as my excuses for this cut.

Is it Friday yet?

Just some shots of our sorry peppers. Maybe we will get our green thumb next year.

Quinn is getting to be a big girl. She spent 10min in her swing this morning. I am so proud of her.

And as always Ewan is making me smile. He loves to have toast and jam for breakfast. I think he wears more jam than he eats.

Monday, September 14, 2009

Just an update on Quinn. Mom and I spent the weekend in hospital with Quinn. She was admitted on Friday and were discharged home on Sunday night. She had a cold and an intestinal virus. So there was lots of diapers.
She was kept in hospital to have IV fluids while she wasn't eating.

Lots of nose drips.

Looks like she is doing well now still a little snotty. We are all happy to be home.

Blue Berries

Can you find Ewan in this Picture?

This is one of Ewan's first experiences in the blue berry field. He had so much fun. A great activity to improve dexterity, picking all the berries and trying not to eat too much grass.

Great Grandma Linda

We got to spend some time with the kids Great Grandma Linda. She gave Ewan the fantastic rain suit he is sporting in some of the pictures. Every time he picks up the boots he says "Granma". Quinn had a great snuggle with her, it was the longest I have ever seen Grandma Linda sit still. They looked so cozy together.

I am please to post this as a vacation picture. Mom and I were able to keep up our running while we were on the Mira. We have improved a great deal and as Laura reminds us often we are "lovin it". I am up to 18 min of total run time in 6min then 1min walk intervals. We also ran up the driveway every time. For those of you who are not familiar with it, it is a 1/2 km all up hill.

Home Again

We are home from our summer vacation. We had a great time on the Mira with Mom and Dad. Ewan had a great time swimming, boating, tractor rides and berry picking. Quinn has matured this week away. She is more settled doesn't cry as much and for the first time today she fell asleep in her own bed with looking at and listening to her new crib toy.
Over the next few days I will add some pictures from the vacation.
