Talking to Gigi

Thankyou

I just wanted to say thank you to Julie,a friend from work, for knitting all these baby hats. She is donating them to the NICU in Ella's name. It means so much to us that Ella is remembered.

Christmas PJ

Quinn's Christmas PJs are a little too small. I don't think they will fit her come December.

A letter to our family and friends

Thank you for not expecting too much from us this holiday season.

It will be our first Christmas without Ella and we have all we can handle coping with the 'spirit' of the holiday on the radio, TV, in the newspaper and stores. We do not feel joyous, and trying to pretend this Christmas is going to be like the last one will be impossible because we are missing one.

Please allow us to talk about Ella if we feel the need. Don't be uncomfortable with our tears. Our hearts are breaking and the tears are a way of letting out our sadness.

We plan to do something special in memory of Ella. Please recognize our need to do this in order to keep our memories alive. Our fear is not that we will forget, but that you will.

Please don't criticize us if we do something that you don't think is normal. We are different people now and it may take a long time before these different people reach an acceptance of Ella's death.

As we move through the stages of grief, we will need your patience and support, especially during these holiday times and the 'special' days throughout the year.

Thank you for not expecting too much from us this holiday season.

Love Natalie and Jeff

Quinn

Quinn has been doing really well. I had her to the IWK to be weighed this week, she has finally made it to 11lbs and 4oz. This morning I also noticed that she may be getting a tooth on the bottom front. She has been chewing a lot lately. I will keep you posted on the progress.

Santa

We took Ewan and Quinn to meet Santa last night at the mall during a family night with Bonnie. We were very surprised and happy to be one of few families who took advantage of this opportunity. Quinn did well standing with Santa but Ewan didn't want any part of sitting with Santa. Maybe next year.

Some company

Glen has made the blog AGAIN. This time he was nice enough to bring Susan along. Thanks for the visit.

Olympic Torch

The Olympic torch relay passed by the store at the end of our street, So exciting. Ewan was more interested in the police motorcycles than the torch.
